Civilian van and Game Master playtest follow-up — 4 October 2026
Source changes are restricted to the four addon files in changed-addon-files.json, compared with the previously qualified civilian traffic source manifest. Other staged/unstaged features were retained. The Workshop release and live server were not changed.
Findings and changes
The RKS #2 session logs_2026-10-04_11-28-41 ran Chernarus Minus and includes both players. Traffic creation had destinations, but the former journal omitted prefab, readiness and movement state. It cannot establish why the particular reported S1203 stopped. Vanilla S1203 driving works in the separate native baseline.
Traffic now logs those missing states, waits until readiness before starting the progress clock, and restores remaining fixed route orders after sustained stalls. There are at most two retries per car; failed allocation preserves old orders. Three minutes without progress still retires the car using the existing distance/visibility/grace rules. Player claims and additional occupants still release control permanently.
Vanilla pause-menu code disables the Game Master open button in the limited branch without re-enabling it when modes arrive. Escape now refreshes enabled state using the native manager's limitations and CanOpen(). Takeover also reconciles already-connected players after admission replay, creating only missing managers and using native role-derived permissions. It does not grant an admin role or preserve a revoked login.
Native evidence
Private dedicated engine, Nogova, network/PID/IPC isolation, separate profile, no backend or sound. The fixture supplies a stationary observer and selects S1203 instead of the production random car choice; production placement, seating, readiness, route assignment, retry, motion and cleanup are retained.
- Mixed baseline: both S105 variants drove. The three-variant fixture reached its deadline before a third car spawned; its overall result is not claimed as a pass.
- S1203 baseline: seated neutral unarmed civilian, two native orders, physical driving beyond 25 m, protected native garbage entries and distant retirement passed.
- Recovery: removes native orders after readiness and advances the stall clock. Production retry recreates both waypoints; S1203 then drives beyond 25 m and ultimately more than 650 m before safe retirement. No script errors. Existing terrain editor subscription fixture also passes all five checks.
The policy regressions execute production traffic retirement/retry and editor repair/button methods with adapters, including missing/existing managers, non-admin roles, role arrival/revocation, disconnected and stale state, retry cap, forward route progress and failed retry issuance. Real multiplayer Game Master UI/camera use and the exact reported Chernarus stall remain unqualified; native event delivery alone is not a multiplayer UI test.
Repository verification
The full python3 tools/check.py suite passed. Focused traffic and editor regressions were rerun after the final deleted-group/deleted-waypoint guards and passed. Whitespace validation passes for this change's files. A pre-existing trailing space in tests/test_native_memory_deadlines.py remains untouched.
Final source verification: native-final-console.log records zero script errors, five traffic assertions and five editor-event assertions. All four changed production files match the final native source copy apart from explicit fixture-only selection of the S1203. The final van restored lost orders, drove over 570 m and retired safely after the observer left.
