Current development status

Evidence checkpoint: 19 September 2026, through archived integrated Core 100619 and companion 101611 regressions, finite courier 095513 and prison action boundary 100148. Later experimental flight callbacks and companion/ordinary regressions remain under active validation. The primary deliverable remains an independently authored replacement for the abandoned Escapists base mission, integrating companion behavior through its interfaces. The first release targets vanilla Everon and up to twelve players, completing prison → scavenging/intel → radio defence → helicopter extraction without the original mod or dependent extensions.

The successor has five independent addon projects, its own scenario/resource identities, authored Everon sites and vanilla asset references. Ordinary Core and companion startup now work with real local admission. Scripted base-loop checkpoints and focused physical support tests exist, but this is not a released or fully accepted replacement. All seventeen release cases remain pending in acceptance; development checks record narrower evidence.

Established development checkpoints

Area Recorded evidence Limit
Ordinary game admission Regular, non-Workbench Core and latest all-companion runs load their headers/MissionSystems and admit the genuine local controller to a living canonical prisoner, with a fifteen-second ready interval and zero captured errors. Diagnostic noSplash and standalone round-local roster key; no ordinary full route, normal splash, network identity or manual input qualification. Admission design.
Independent base loop Two latest Core rounds pass 612 assertions with zero errors, including canonical participant rejection/normal recovery, native rough/exact discovery markers and culled-marker cleanup, radio feedback, extraction and restart. The 101611 companion run also passes two rounds, 96 assertions and zero errors with teardown diagnostics disabled. These qualify their own sources; subsequent changes leave current clean runtime pending. The earlier 084026 catalog failure remains preserved.
Prison, equipment and medicine Prisoner fixture places one controlled player and eleven physical characters inside the prison with exact kits and real clue transfers. Medical fixture demonstrates blood-loss treatment, consumed supplies and native consciousness recovery. Destroyed-gate progression passes 62 clean assertions, including real native gate destruction, missing-gate rejection and a bounded prisoner crossing. The breach fixture deliberately repositions the real prisoner; it does not prove walking through debris. Physical actors are not twelve connected clients. Ordinary treatment input, animations, supply balance and navigation remain unqualified. The medical snapshot retains historical catalog errors.
Discovery and radio Partial document loss verifies close physical discovery after partial knowledge and loss of all documents. The 085442 Core loop verifies existing native map-widget text refresh, protected objective-marker ownership, recreation and cleanup in both rounds, alongside radio defence/feedback. The marker probe uses owned hidden widgets rather than a real open map and player input. Manual discovery, travel, inventory interaction, combat balance and remote feedback remain unqualified. No replacement clues are spawned after loss.
Player lifecycle and extraction Standalone admission passes 54 clean assertions covering callback replay and explicitly injected context failure with the real local body/life retained. Lifecycle, recovery, casualty loading and stock removal have focused native checks. The actual local incapacitated body can be loaded into a reserved bench and removed alive beside the authored door. Direct completion/helper admission is disclosed. Held input, remote owner handshake, competing rescuers, disconnect/death/deletion during loading and real reconnect remain unproved.
Physical infantry Patrol, HQ preemption/resumption and pending-spawn cancellation pass without creating response forces. The real-perception HQ response passes 35 clean assertions through original RTOs and both radio legs to a distinct original moving squad. The prisoner is arranged and temporarily protected; broader combat, interrupted reports and support losses still need qualification.
Physical mortar First projectile passes 48 assertions through the actual uplink/HQ/downlink/native activity path, consuming one original HE shell and stopping without duplicates. Exact inventory transfer passes 119 assertions and restores all 27 original shells to their original owners. Observation is synthetic; impact is unmeasured. Transfer fixture bypasses radio/scheduling and observed a synchronous callback. The expiry fixture also passes 48 clean assertions: two fresh commitments, then explicit stale-report withholding with no repeat order. Full salvo, genuine late callback, perception and remote ownership remain separate.
Dedicated compilation Regular Linux server compiles Core and reaches prison phase with zero players/36 AI inside a network namespace without external routes. Four resource errors remain; vanilla-only control reproduces all four. No participant joined. This local-server route is diagnostic-only; public/authenticated hosting is not configured or qualified.

Immediate work

  1. Qualify the next integrated source and retain cleanup regressions. The two probe compilation failures are corrected and the later clean 091306/091641 runs compile that source. The scoped off-world medical-kit teardown passes 76 native assertions, including real resource-callback detachment and queued-initialization cancellation under explicit catalog-expiry injection. It does not reproduce the earlier spontaneous companion restart failure. The 092512 companion regression now passes two full rounds,96 assertions and zero errors, with diagnostics disabled. The later prison-breach fixture is clean and ordinary Chat production startup passes after that correction. A current complete Core/companion loop is still required after further source changes; retain the earlier intermittent failure and distinguish explicit catalog-expiry injection from the later clean restart.
  2. Close physical support gaps. A report ledger now prevents a cancelled/completed observation from repeatedly allocating mortar orders. The native expiry fixture verifies stale-report withholding and no repeated order while HQ remains active (48 assertions, zero errors). A newly authored native-input flight experiment compiles, but its 128-point and 208-point surveys refuse every candidate before test-aircraft creation. The latter finds sufficiently flat terrain but all 23 eligible points fail the enlarged entity-clear column. The 377-point survey now finds a safe airport pad, but native seating diagnostics show an empty pilot seat and queued default group members. The later 101342 test proves one seated pilot, measured footprint, one normal engine start, actual rotor speed and fuel consumption, but fails the 8 m drift bound while final native processing overwrites collective/cyclic demands. A final-callback correction is being tested. The 40 m clearance radius/60 m swept height and measured footprint guard remain unchanged. No flight pass is claimed. Powered flight, actual fuel use and safe landing remain unproved. The finite courier now passes 154 clean native assertions through actual radio, original-patrol walking, exact depot-shell delivery and patrol resumption. Its fixture sequesters 27 original shells to arrange depletion; broader courier losses and multiplayer remain separate.
  3. Qualify the ordinary playable route. Check gate/equipment access, medical actions, finding the radio without fixture knowledge, defend/recover behavior, ground travel, real boarding/piloting/navigation and partial escape. Review authored layout and finite supplies from actual play. Preserve vanilla unconscious recovery and explicit administrator abandonment.
  4. Establish genuine multiplayer evidence. The private dedicated runtime is installed and native empty-server startup is demonstrated. Real accepted client identities, joins/reconnects, remote ownership and replication remain outstanding; local bodies/callback injections are not substitutes.

First-release qualification

Cover simultaneous/late joins in each phase, preload cancellation, reconnect and connection-ID reuse, reserved bodies, spent lives, death/unconsciousness/treatment, spectators and streaming cleanup. Verify remote task/map/radio/result updates, settings authorization, seat contention, partial escape, empty-server behavior, defeat and repeated restart with up to twelve connected players.

Collect matched original/successor workloads with repeated client-frame and server-tick measurements. No FPS improvement is demonstrated; the comparison tool currently has synthetic regression evidence only. Complete provenance/dependency review, build/test the package under successor identities and satisfy the release checker with applicable source-bound evidence. A deterministic development source bundle can preview or hand off the five projects; it is not a native .pak or qualified release, and release-mode requests remain gated. No release package is published.

Original mission sources remain read-only. Hidden test displays, private profiles/prefixes and muted test audio keep engine work off the user's monitors. RHS, additional terrains, full original feature parity, alternate starts and distant-unit simulation remain later scope. Historical audits and evidence describe their own snapshots; the validation ledger records both failures and subsequent fixes.
